Profile

My name is Julia Hamon and I’m a professional model, actress, and director. I love bringing life to creative ideas and projects of all sorts. I enjoying being on the stage and behind the scenes, in front of a camera and holding it.

2009-2015

For the past several years, I have worked on stages across North America and Europe, discovering the energy and life of cities and countries, and enjoying the interactions between actors and audiences.

Skills

In addition to acting, I have trained as a dancer, singer and professional mime. The stage is in my blood, and whenever I encounter a new field or area that interests me, I explore it to its roots.

According to Prof. D.Javare Gowda and Prof. G.S.Paramashiviah, folklore is the root of a nation’s culture.
It is the manifestation of intangible heritage in the daily lives of people.
The identity of each community is the sum of its habits, beliefs, attire, food, vocation, avocation, religious practices etc. Like all aspects, even the semantic character of the word Janapada has its variations.

It all started began in 2015, where it was a question in the head, what is our roots? what do we own? These questions led us to hunt for our roots through folklore as the knowledge is an ocean and we chose to sail on that ocean.
Exploring History
2018
After dwelling over the idea for 3 years, we took our first step by starting the in-depth research on folk.
Connection
2019
Connecting the dots through mapping, listing the artists, trying to establish contact with relevant individuals associated to the world of folk in Karnataka. The madness of writing emails, calling people begun.
Pandemic
2020
The world came to a stop, suddenly nothing else mattered to anyone apart from survival of the pandemic. But nothing demotivated us to continue with the research.
On the Run
6 October 2020
Post lockdown, things started giving us hope to begin our productions, we started meeting artists to schedule the production.
Production Begins
22 October 2020
Our first day of production began at Ramanagara on Dollu Kunitha. Interviews, performance captures but still not satisfied as there were no live festivals or live performances taking place with all the crowd where the artform comes to life.
Second Schedule
17 January 2021
15 Days, 2800 km, 5 member crew begun the journey to explore Shimoga, Bijapur, Koppala, Hampi.
